10: Complete the purchase & get the keys

When the Estate Agent is ready to close the sale, your solicitor will request the mortgage cheque from the Bank orBuilding Society.

Assuming that ALL the conditions on the letter of offer have been met, the bank’s ‘completion department’ will issue the check to the solicitor.

You’ll usually meet the solicitor at this stage, sign some documents and pay your legal fees and outlays (such as
Land Registry fees etc).

Your solicitor will issue a check to the sellers solicitor and you'll get your house keys.

Time to crack open the Champagne!!!!
